How Cozy Pet handles local progress, to-dos, and Lemon Squeezy or legacy Gumroad License Key verification.
Data stored on your device
Chrome's local extension storage holds pet progress, bond rewards, completed and pending to-dos, selected pets and rooms, active-minute totals, onboarding state, settings, the payment provider selected for license restoration, the checkout email and License Key entered by the user, a random installation identifier, Lemon Squeezy device-instance information where applicable, product mapping, license status, and validation timestamps.
Chrome's idle status is used only to pause XP while the browser is inactive. Cozy Pet does not inspect which websites you visit or read webpage content.
License verification and checkout
New purchases take place on Lemon Squeezy's hosted checkout. When a Lemon Squeezy License Key is activated or refreshed, Cozy Pet sends the key and a random installation-instance name to Lemon Squeezy's License API over HTTPS. Lemon Squeezy may return product, variant, checkout email, license status, and device-instance metadata. Cozy Pet compares those fields with the entered email and expected Cozy Pet product before granting access.
Customers who bought the Complete Cozy Pack through Gumroad in version 2.0.0 can select Gumroad during restoration. Cozy Pet then sends the key, the public Gumroad product ID, and a request not to increase the key's use count to Gumroad's License API. Gumroad may return purchase, refund, dispute, and checkout-email metadata used to verify access.
Cozy Pet stores only the license fields needed to restore and revalidate access. It does not store payment-card or bank details. Checkout and payment records held by Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad are governed by their own privacy and retention requirements.
Limited use
Information handled by Cozy Pet is used only for its disclosed companion, local productivity, purchase-restoration, and paid-content licensing features. It is not sold or used for advertising, creditworthiness, or unrelated profiling. Humans at KiteStudio are not given access to locally stored to-dos or progress.
Data we do not collect
Cozy Pet does not read or transmit webpage content, visited URLs, browsing history, passwords, website form entries, payment-card details, or the text of your to-dos to KiteStudio. Cozy Pet contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
Security and data removal
License requests use encrypted HTTPS connections and are limited to the official Lemon Squeezy and Gumroad License API endpoints. Premium access is rebuilt only after a successful remote license check; locally edited entitlement data is not trusted.
You can remove local extension data by releasing licenses where available, uninstalling Cozy Pet, or clearing its stored data in Chrome. Provider purchase records remain subject to legal retention requirements.
